Letter : From “Dear” to “With Love”

Ketika aku memulai hari dengan mengecek email, mengecek notification facebook, atau Timeline Twitter, pesan di Catfiz atau Whatsapp atau SMS ada satu hal yang kupikirkan betapa mudahnya sebuah pesan tersampaikan, tapi di sisi lain aku merasakan satu hal yang membuatku merasa agak kehilangan semangat saat mendapatkan pesan-pesan atau informasi tersebut karena ada hal yang lupa tersampaikan, yaitu perasaan…sebut aku kuno atau berotak primitif, tapi aku merindukan sebuah surat yang di awali dengan Dear dan diakhiri dengan With Love, mungkin aku perlu membuka kotak sepatu lama untuk melihat surat-surat cinta jaman sekolah, mulai dari gumpalan kertas lusuh hingga pesan singkat dibalik catatan sejarah, tapi saat membaca sesuatu yang dituliskan oleh jari jemari orang yang kita cintai, rasanya sungguh….seolah kita merasakan cinta dalam setiap goresan kata yang tertuliskan.

          Aku iri setengah mati pada Holly Kennedy, saat Gery , cinta sejatinya pergi, selain cinta yang abadi, Gerry juga menitipkan goresan jarinya dalam surat-surat cinta yang tak hanya berisi pesan tapi juga keinginan untuk menjaga Holly, surat dari novel P.S I Love You dari Cecilia Ahern, adalah salah satu favoriteku, seperti ini…

My darling Holly,

I don't know where you are or when exactly you are reading this. I just hope that my letter has found you safe and healthy. You whispered to me not long ago that you couldn't go on alone.

You can, Holly.

You are strong and brave and you can get through this. We shared some beautiful times together and you made my life . . . you made my life. I have no regrets. But I am just a chapter in your life, there will be many more. Remember our wonderful memories, but please don't be afraid to make some more.

Thank you for doing me the honor of being my wife. For everything, I am eternally grateful. Whenever you need me, know that I am with you.

Selain surat Gerry untuk Holly, aku suka sekali surat yang satu ini, surat pertama yang diterima Harry dari Hogwarts, surat resmi dalam fiksi yang paling kucintai karena benar-benar memanjakan imajinasi, sungguh tetap mengagumi kahayalan tingkat tinggi JK. Rowling, pecinta Harry Potter pasti mengingat surat ini.
